A vacuum petcock is intended to restrict fuel flow when engine vacuum is absent, but proper operation depends on correct installation, intact hoses and a functioning valve. Always inspect for leaks.
Installation note: Work in a ventilated area away from flames, sparks and hot surfaces. Drain/contain fuel safely, replace damaged seals and hoses, and leak-test every connection before operating the motorcycle.
